Google has introduced a new feature called Search Console Insights, which is designed to help site owners better understand which content resonates with their audience.
The joint data from both Search Console and Google Analytics allows Search Console Insights to provide easily understood content performance.
The Search Console Insights data will help site owners answer some of the following questions:
- What are your best performing pieces of content, and which ones are trending?
- How do people discover your content across the web?
- What do people search for on Google before they visit your content?
- Which article refers users to your website and content?
To access Search Console Insights, site owners can select the feature via the new link at the top of the Google Search Console’s Overview page. Soon it will be accessible from Google’s iOS app, with support for the Android app being planned as well.
Don’t have Google Analytics? No worries. It’s still possible to utilize Search Console Insights without it, but to get the full experience, it’s necessary to link the two.
The feature only supports Google Analytics UA properties at this time, though the company is working to support Google Analytics 4.
ABOUT A YEAR IN THE PROCESS
Google first launched a closed beta test for Search Console Insights back in August 2020 and has been testing it for nearly a year now.
The tool seems to still be in its beta testing stage, but the key difference between the two rollouts is Search Console Insights will soon be available to everyone – compared to last year’s “invite-only” availability.
It’s fair to say Google may have tweaked a few things during the year’s time span, but the company doesn’t highlight any updates.
As of summer 2021, this feature’s data is available in your Search Console dashboard.
